Description:
Perennial grassy plant with a short creeping rhizome and upright stalks 50-100 cm high. Sheet plates flat, up to 8 mm wide. Inflorescences - sprawling whisks up to 20 cm long. Cones are 2-3-floral, 5-10 mm long, greenish or brownish-golden. Lower floral scales with two short edges and the awn leaving their top third. Awns are curved, in the lower part a little twirled, at the end of blossoming unbent down. A fruit - a zernovka, up to 4 mm long, above with quite large appendage.

Rasprostraniyeniye:
Eurasia, North America (Alaska and Aleutian Islands). In Belarus is on the western border of an area. It is noted in Dokshitsky, Dubrovensky, Kamenetsky, Lepelsky, Logoysky and Minsk districts.
