International importance:

Description:
Perennial grassy plant with a short creeping rhizome and upright stalks 50-100 cm high. Sheet plates flat, up to 8 mm wide. Inflorescences - sprawling whisks up to 20 cm long. Cones are 2-3-floral, 5-10 mm long, greenish or brownish-golden. Lower floral scales with two short edges and the awn leaving their top third. Awns are curved, in the lower part a little twirled, at the end of blossoming unbent down. A fruit - a zernovka, up to 4 mm long, above with quite large appendage.

Rasprostraniyeniye:
Eurasia, North America (Alaska and Aleutian Islands). In Belarus is on the western border of an area. It is noted in Dokshitsky, Dubrovensky, Kamenetsky, Lepelsky, Logoysky and Minsk districts. There is gerbarny collecting from the Rogachevsky County, the Vyalovsky reserve (Volozhinyosky district) and the Mogilev province. According to literary data it is brought for Mogilev and Minsk.

Habitats:
Boggy woods (birch, pine and pine and birch) and meadows, key bogs.
