BRONZOVKA GREEN

Potosia aeruginosa (Drury, 1770)
Group: Coleopterous (Coleoptera)
Family: Plastinchatousye

Status: Category 2.

Rare species which number is reduced. Short description. Dyne of a body of 22-28 mm. The body is a little priplusnuto-valkovaty, from above with expressed metal - brilliant outflow of an ocherous-greenish or copper-colored shade, possible with pale greenish-golden outflow. A bottom of a body and leg intensively green, sometimes with pale blue of a body. Wing sheaths evenly convex with a weak punktirovka, but without any drawings. Lateral parts so-so are visible to a breast from above from under nadkrylyev. Wing sheaths on each side with dredging in the lower zaplechny part.

Distribution. Republic of Belarus, Ukraine. Central and Southern Europe, western suburb of Asia Minor (4, 5). In the European part of the Russian Federation it is widespread from a forest zone to the northern steppe (5). The northern border of an area is supposed on the Yoshkar-Ola-Malmyzh line what is a northeast boundary of Central Volga area. Across Central Volga area the look was registered in the sixties the last century (6). Then it is in the eighties noted for the Raifsky site of VKGPBZ (1). During 1995-2005 the bug was marked out practically in all main natural and zone parts of RT. In total there were 8 meetings in 6 points of 5 regions of PT (7-13).

Number. Very low. Meetings with a bronzovka green are single. Ecology and biology. Years of bugs from May to August. The main habitat of an imago of bugs at this time krupnotsvetkovy (or with big inflorescences) wood and shrubby plants. Especially they prefer various blossoming fruit and berry cultures, or very fragrant ornamental plants. During this period they can eat away completely in other years flowers of many blossoming trees and bushes. Perhaps also, especially during pairing of bugs and an otkladka of eggs, stay both females, and males on wound nateka of trees of tverdostvolny breeds a maple, an apple-tree, a birch, an oak, etc., but only under a canopy of the wood, or on priopushechny sites, or forest glades and only in twilight. Very willingly visits the old and especially thrown run wild gardens (3, 4). However any considerable congestions of bugs in similar places these years in Tatarstan are noted. Larvae of a bug live only in the mouldering humidified wood remains under valezhinam, in the decayed stubs and hollows of old trees, in the thrown gardens and the broad-leaved woods, mainly in old oak or maple plantings. The larva winters. She finishes the development in May and pupates. Generation is one-year. The main time of an otkladka of eggs falls on June-July (3, 4). Probably, the main object of food of larvae more is summer generation of a mycelium of derevorazrushayushchy mushrooms which development depends on moistening factors.

The limiting factors. The long droughty mode of weather during the vegetative period. Chemical processing of forest and fruit and berry cultures (first of all in gardens near the wood) during the spring and summer period (May-June). Izrezhivaniye of the woods, the continuous and concentrated cabins with a raskorchevka and vyvoloky wood; reduction of old deciduous plantings, especially oak groves; removal valezhin; clearing of the wood. Recreation, including activity of mushroom pickers. All factors are most significant for larvae of a bug.

Protection measures. The look a bronzovka green is included in Red Lists of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ulyanovsk region (2). Special measures of protection are not developed. Proceeding from biology and ecology of a look, we consider pertinent the following approaches on ensuring its safety and reproduction. It is necessary to stop practice of allocation of land under gardening societies in priopushechny part of the wood. Within habitats of a look to stop any chemical processings both in the woods, and in gardens, adjacent to these places, especially in May-June, and also in the farmland. Perhaps artificial contents and cultivation that demands special technological researches and regarding preparation of a food substratum for larvae.
