The Moscow guests on the Kobrin earth   

On the eve of the 70 anniversary of release of Kobrin the staff of the Kobrin military and historical museum of A. V. Suvorov accepted the granddaughter of one of liberators of our city in the walls.

This year of hospitality pleases our city with numerous guests, and, certainly, they always visit the Kobrin military and historical museum of A. V. Suvorov which is the hallmark of the city. The staff of the museum is pleased, in turn, by enthusiastic reviews of beauty of the city, purity and an ukhozhennost of its streets. We repeatedly hear all this from guests, and always heart overflows love to our majestic and proud Belarus.

On June 14 our city was visited by Irina Borisova's family from the city of Moscow. The staff of the museum was touched when she reported that a main goal of their trip across Belarus - visit of the city of Kobrin which was freed in 1944 by her grandfather - Dmitry Kuzmich Borisov, the colonel, the commander of the 1282nd antiaircraft and artillery regiment. This regiment as a part of the 61st Army conducted battles for Kobrin, and among other 12 military formations which freed the city, the honourable name "Kobrin" is appropriated to it.

Honourable citizens of Kobrin: commander of the 1282nd army antiaircraft and artillery regiment Dmitry Kuzmich Borisov and former director of the museum of Suvorov Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov.

Dmitry Kuzmich Borisov was born in of Yasenki of Tula region. To service in army worked as the operator of the vrubochny machine at mine in the city of Anzhero-Sudzhensk of the Kemerovo region on Kuzbass. In Red Army since 1929. Met the Great Patriotic War under the city of Sumy as a part of the 20th army. Was the chief of a staff of an antiaircraft division from July, 1941 to July, 1943. Ordered the 1282nd antiaircraft and artillery regiment from September, 1943 to May, 1945, it is awarded by the Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner, Alexander Nevsky, Patriotic war of the II degree, the Red Star and nine medals. Borisov Dmitry Kuzmich is awarded ranks "The honourable citizen of Kobrin". As a sign of profound gratitude Dmitry Kuzmich gave the family relics which considerably enriched museum collections. After war Borisov lived in Moscow, died in 1975.

In the Kobrin military and historical museum there is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with D. K. Borisov's memoirs where not only the information on the course of military operations in historical July days is supplied, but also a numerous number of surnames of our soldiers liberators is given.

"... On July 19, 1944 our troops to a descent seized the city of Kobrin. the 38th art crew moved along a route – Antopol, Zalesye, Kobrin, Mazuri. A regiment, moving in fighting orders of crew in readiness of firing of a descent and from short stops, taking firing positions on crossings through the river Mukhavets and the channel Kobrin, carried out a task of cover of crew from air and fight against prospecting aircraft of the opponent...

... In July fights and, especially in fights for mastering the cities of Kobrin and Brest caused a stir, having shown firmness, skill in firing, resourcefulness and organization on march, and also at occupation and leaving of fighting positions: commander of the 1st battery captain Slesarev, commander of a platoon of the 1st battery of St. The lieutenant Inglikov, the driver – St. Sergeant Kosenko, sergeant Savchenko, privates Petrenko, Fokin, Burtsev, corporals Rodzevich, Tkachenko, commander of office of the Art. sergeant Sukhoverkhov, radio telephone operators sergeant Kulachno, ml. sergeant Shuteev, commander of office sergeant Podjelets, cannon numbers foreman Diky, sergeant Lakhtodyr, private Gaponenko..."

Irina Borisova's visit on the eve of the 70 anniversary of release of the city of Kobrin for us is very symbolical and we mean.

Research associates conducted to guests a sightseeing tour on an exposition of the museum "Seven Centuries of Kobrin". Irina Aleksandrovna especially attentively considered the halls devoted to the Great Patriotic War where the military single-breasted coat of Borisov, its award, the photo and short biographic data is exhibited.

In library of the museum guests with gratitude thumbed through the thematic folder "Heroes of release of the city of Kobrin. Borisov Dmitry Kuzmich", and also got acquainted with numerous editions on the Great Patriotic War. With special feeling and awe Irina Aleksandrovna held grandfather's "Mauser" in hand. Dmitry Kuzmich gave the gun to continuous storage to the museum in 1974 when came to our city on celebration of the 30 anniversary of its release. Also the picture where historical date of transmission of "Mauser" by the veteran Borisov to the director of the museum Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov is imprinted is stored in funds of the museum. This subject is unique and as the sample of small arms also, certainly, is remarkable that this individual weapon of the veteran with which it freed the city of Kobrin.

Staff of the museum acquainted guests from Moscow with sights of our city and hoped that visit this not the last as we and the Moscow guests are connected by very important historical threads.
