Among guerrillas of group of Shchors acting in our corner of the world Vadim Vorobyyov was the most young. In 1941 to it 12 years were executed. Vorobyyov' family met the beginning of war in Brest. The chief of linear department of militia Andrey Yakovlevich Vorobyyov together with military personnel, militiamen and railroad workers the whole week held the fort of the station. But forces were unequal, ranks of defenders thawed under blows of the enemy. Survived it was succeeded to escape from a Hitlerite vice, among daredevils there was also Andrey Vorobyyov. However he was seized by fascists and shot. His last words were turned to the son: "Be a hero, the son!". They and steel for the boy motto for the rest of life.

In the heaviest conditions of fascist occupation mother, Praskoviya Frolovna, and the son became active participants of the Brest party and Komsomol underground organization. With risk for life Vadim with companions assembled the weapon which was transferred to guerrillas, commands of group of Chernak performed tasks. In 1943 Vorobyyov' family goes to guerrilla group of Shchors.

Here is how Vadim Andreevich in article published in "The book of memory" which the veteran was handed in Pskov on January 5, 2002 tells about it: "... In guerrilla group my mother, Praskoviya Frolovna, started at once performance of the medical duties as was a paramedic by training. I carried out everything that to me was charged. The chief of investigation of group Pavel Aksyonovich Guznov paid attention to me. With the first task I was sent to Brest to establish connection with the necessary person. I did not manage to cope with an assignment and to bring valuable information".

Having become the full-fledged fighter of group, the boy receives reconnaissance tasks more often, takes part in combat operations. Together with demolition men goes "to a piece of iron". Works in a fighting situation resolutely and safely, winning respect of guerrillas. Wound and a contusion, medals to "The guerrilla of the Great Patriotic War" and "For courage" celebrated years of guerrilla fight.

In Vadim Andreevich's memoirs there is an episode which occurred on March 4, 1944: "We left, six horse intelligence agents led by Pavel Aksyonovich Guznov, from Svaryni to Divin. In the village of Povitye six more people with the commander of office Timofey Lavrikov joined us. To Divin remained kilometers fifteen. Having left to the town, Guznov stopped intelligence agents, and itself and with me went with the orderly to the house where ours lived coherent Afanasy Davydovich Brishtel. Guznov entered the house and returned back soon.

- An order, - he told. - Afanasy says that in the town there are no fascists, politsayev.

Soon around intelligence agents the crowd of locals gathered. They attentively listened to the political leader Vladimir Petrov reading the report of Sovinformburo. When went outside, from Kobrin at big height the German plane flew by, dumped leaflets. On a signal of the blue rocket intelligence agents began to gather. And here the plane appeared again. We hurried to take cover behind houses. Zashchelkali locks, and guerrillas opened fire. I also several times fired from the carbine, trying to aim in a cabin, but remembered that it is necessary to shoot on an advancing. And shot last time. And here, to my astonishment, the plane motor as if having choked, two times "sneezed" and decayed. The car sharply tilted, began to decrease and fell absolutely near Divin, somewhere near the Suvorov oak...".

The German pilots were taken prisoner, then removed machine guns, radio station, the accumulator, devices, ammunition from the plane. To bring trophies, the cart was necessary... Guerrilla life for Vadim ended in April, 1944, later he went to study to the fifth class. The father's parting word always served as a reference point in the son's life. In 1948 it is called up for military service. In ten years of service Vadim Vorobyyov passed a way from the private to the captain, the skilled specialist in the aircraft equipment. When to armies there was a reduction, the captain Vorobyyov was transferred to the reserve, returned with a family to Pskov.

Working in militia, was an example for others, in absentia graduated from Ministry of Internal Affairs academy was entitled the major. But the trouble as if trapped Vadim. The serious illness fell down, suddenly. In 39 years - the disabled person of the first group... After long months of treatment began to learn to go.

"Be a hero, the son!" - the first book of Vadim Vorobyyov. It was published in 1975. The second book which manuscript is printed by the author of one left hand is called "the krone strengthens roots". It is the story of the person of staunch will power about the generation – successors of nice traditions of fathers.
