Once again we express gratitude to veterans of the Great Patriotic War who expensive price defended an opportunity to live, create and be happy in the native land, Belarus - the sovereign independent state for the people.

One of those who passed roads of war battled against the enemy, - the inhabitant of Patriki Ivan Alekseevich Lesnyak. Called up it for military service for the second day after Kobrin's release. At first sent in Dimitrov for Moscow, to "uchebka". After its termination Ivan Lesnyak was entitled the sergeant. Served in the 17th artillery crew of a reserve of the Main command of the tipper-of of a 122-millimetric howitzer. Before big approach which began on January 14, 1945 the artillery crew was located on the base under Grodno. Then moved to Warsaw, then threw crew to East Prussia. And when approach to Berlin began, the crew was transferred to the I Belarusian front under Zhukov's command.

Fights for Zeelovsky heights near Berlin which Germans considered unapproachable were especially remembered to the sergeant Lesnyak. At that time the artillery regiment was replenished with 122-millimetric tools. (Recently the son carried Ivan Alekseevich in the Brest fortress to look at the same gun established on a pedestal.)
Command calculated storm of heights to trifles. In advance the purposes and quantity of shells which needed to be let out on them were provided. Ivan Lesnyak managed to direct only tools and to pull a cord.
So many volleys made their calculation for the first time. In this battle Zhukov used powerful searchlights which lit the German positions and blinded the enemy. Ivan Alekseevich remembers that after that artillery cannonade from a dyorganye for a tool cord at it the hand swelled up.

The military way of the tipper-of was noted by the medals "3a courage", "For Services in Battle", "For Liberation of Warsaw", "For Capture of Berlin", "For a Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." the staff sergeant Ivan Lesnyak the deputy commander of a gun crew in 1950 in Potsdam graduated from service.

After demobilization together with the fellow countryman Nikolay Torutko Ivan Alekseevich came back home. Worked as the secretary of the Village Council, and then it was elected the chairman. In 1957 with the young wife built the house in the center of of Patriki which is buried in flowers now. The son does not forget parents, there come grandsons and the great-grandson.

- Now veterans of the Great Patriotic War in honor, - Ivan Alekseevich says. - Both the state, and local authorities, and the management of APO Verbnoye care for us. Military awards for us, veterans, are especially expensive. But the main award - the peace sky over the head, an opportunity to our descendants to live and create in the sovereign state.
