Kobrin → Outstanding persons → Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov

Many people sometimes think of how our time is transient. For me the thought that in 2009 105 years since the birth of the surprising person - Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov will be executed became an occasion to reflect on precipitancy of our days.

Already soon 10 years as it is not with us, but memory still returns to this remarkable person, for many residents he became a legend still during lifetime. Mass media wrote about Martynov more than once, emphasizing his contribution to Kobrin's history. And he became part of history of our city because it is already impossible to imagine our life without its "children" - the establishments created with its direct participation: city library, society of protection of monuments. And, of course, the first on the importance the Kobrin military and historical museum of A. V. Suvorov which became in literal sense lifework of Alexey Mikhaylovich, up to his last days is in this list. Most of people knew it as founder of the museum, his permanent head within 32 years, and even after leaving from this post - as tireless collector and chronicler of history Kobrin which he witnessed throughout the long life. It would be desirable to tell of this party of its many-sided activity in more detail.

Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov was born in Kobrin in 1904 and almost all the life lived exactly here. Natural observation in combination with a quick and understanding mind and comprehensive erudition allowed it in youth to cause a stir in literary talents. Subsequently Alexey Mikhaylovich developed the literary gift by writing of a big number of articles for various editions. Statements, virtuosity of knowledge of the literary language, and also the use of the words and concepts which went out of modern use, but often applied in the first half of the 20th century became characteristic features of its unique style legkost. Its delicate irony over the described events, and sometimes and over by itself is absolutely unique in pertinent cases. Martynov all subjects of urban history were subject to Peru, since events of the first chronicles and finishing with artful designs of modern life. He was on friendly terms with a muse of history of Clio all life therefore her admirers looked forward to emergence of the next article signed by this person.

The most part of the typewritten materials written by Martynov carefully is stored in the Kobrin museum. All of them are of considerable interest owing to the originality. It is difficult to present library of the museum without these invaluable materials on Kobrin's stories.

In 2009 a series of articles A.M is "Also" offered to attention of readers. Martynova, written at different times and in absolutely various occasions. In some of them it will be a question of events of 20-30-year therefore let some strangenesses in chronology do not confuse the modern reader: glance in the end of article and you will find date of its writing there. History of our city is rich with events which were investigated in due time by Martynov and with ease inherent in it committed to paper. We in the turn can only express the gratitude to destiny that in our city there lived such unique researcher and the chronicler, and also hope that Alexey Mikhaylovich's creativity will not leave indifferent not only former judges of his talent, but also new readers who with its help will open for themselves the fascinating world of history.
