On November 15, 1999 life of the remarkable person, honourable citizen Kobrin MARTYNOV Alexey Mikhaylovich broke. We were left by the person of the kindest soul whose heart was always opened for people, the faithful companion and the modest toiler, whose life and work were inseparably linked with our city.

Martynov Alexey Mikhaylovich was born on August 20, 1904 in the teacher's family in to Kobrina. In 1939, at once after reunion of the Western Belarus with BSSR, under its management it was organized and in post-war time the city library is updated. In days of the Great Patriotic War Alexey Mikhaylovich worked as the warehouse manager of construction materials, was connected with guerrillas of group of Chapayev. Repeatedly got for group city maps with the indication of fascist formations, then it was mobilized in Red Army. In 1945 after demobilization worked in technical bureau.

Alexey Mikhaylovich was a direct founder of the military and historical museum of A. V. Suvorov who opened in 1946. From 1946 to 1978 for 32 years worked as his director. In the 60th years Alexey Mikhaylovich headed volunteer society of protection of monuments, cooperated with Academy of Sciences of Belarus in drawing up the Arch of historical and cultural monuments.

The important merit of Alexey Mikhaylovich is that to the 30 anniversary of liberation of Belarus from fascist aggressors in the city memorial boards were established, the places deserving memory and respect are noted. Alexey Mikhaylovich constantly was interested in cultural and political life of the republic, and also what directly concerned the hometown. Its articles often could be seen in our newspaper. It was the intelligent and stood person, charming and nice, attentive and sensitive to people which held a deserved authority among colleagues.

Light memory of Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov, the great head, the kind companion forever will remain in the hearts of those who knew him, loved and worked near him.
