Heartily and hearts I congratulate on the 90 anniversary since the birth of the oldest inhabitant Kobrin Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov, the Honorary member of republican society of protection of historical and cultural monuments. My sincere wish of kind health, light, warm days and feasible, fruitful work for the benefit of spiritual development of Kobrin district, Belarus.

Word about the senior companion

Right after war the army destiny abandoned me on the fifth anniversary in hot Kushka. I remember how greedy caught each news which was occasionally reaching in the most southern garrison that on border with Afghanistan. The country healed heavy Rani of war, and pleasant interest was caused by news that in Kobrin the Suvorov museum is newly created and open. The officer who arrived here for service from this western garrison shared it.

Years later this old memorial lodge appeared in pictures of encyclopedias, reference books, in texts of historical and educational literature, became the business card as if of Kobrin rediscovered to the world. Earlier only the little knew that invaders used this lodge under a stable, having closed elementary school. From clearing of sewage of the beginnings known nowadays L. M. Martynov appointed then the director of the museum which was not and it was necessary to create.

On those strict times it was unusual appointment to a management position. It is known that the party, especially on posts in the field of ideology, put party, in rare instances — perspective Komsomol members. But Martynov was not and did not become either that, or another, and life confirmed that in this case the party was not mistaken in "the non-party Bolshevik".

I began from far away to track as important to the person initially to define the road to life as important surrounding to help with it. Alexey Mikhaylovich Martynov, to which nowadays 90 years, bright to that confirmation. Because the person reaches something bigger then if does not spray force in the different directions, grabbing, one, for another, and steadily goes on the way towards the chosen aim.

Surely I can tell that nobody else from kobrinchan, at least to me known, cannot become level with Martynov on a contribution to studying of history of Kobrin district and its promotion in mass media. Already being on pension, Alexey Mikhaylovich, despite age, hardly reduced efforts on the chosen way, and it readers of "the Kobrin messenger" according to its last publications cannot but notice.

On controversial issues of history which arose very much recently — Martynov a peculiar information city bureau. And not only city — come from Brest and Minsk, ask: where to find Martynov? When recently there were questions according to names of city streets, monuments and on an orientation of the museum, Alexey Mikhaylovich appeared not on a roadside, and in the center of the arguing parties, consistently drawing the line. And if follies were not committed after all, then to a great extent (more exact phrase I do not find) thanks to his arguments based on profound knowledge of history.

When recently there came Israelis and it was NECESSARY to show and tell about places of mass destruction of the Jewish population, as the guide to go on Bronnuyu Gore where about 50 thousand innocent lives are ruined, besides went to ready to help Martynov. And surprising in it there is nothing. When with approach of commodity hunger and together with it a spiritual impoverishment people sorted from shops necessary and unnecessary, it is seemingly possible to stock up forever, Martynov diligent dug in bookstore, being replenished with the necessary books.

My senior companion endured two world wars, saw in eyes of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II. Presently landslide falsification of history I consider as especially valuable that knowledge of this person - the patriot is based not only on the book publications deserving attention, and first of all on primary sources - documents, museum pieces, monuments.

And quite recently the businessman of the city famous to me called on phone of a reception of V. F. Kuchinsky and asks: how you think if to prepare and publish the separate book of the publication of Martynov, the concerning Kobrin's stories? My answer was unambiguous. And now I will add that if such question is raised by the businessman, then it is already serious and quite real
