Kobrin district in the years of war

The tribute and appreciation to those who appeared in a tuft of military hard times with all sincerity is expressed by representatives of post-war generations. Heartrending experiences in the years of one of the most terrible wars took out also those who at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War did not reach majority yet. On June 4 Kobrin district celebrated the former prisoners of concentration camps, prisons, a ghetto and other places of detention in anything not guilty people created by fascists and their allies during World War II.

Addressing participants of a significant meeting, the chairman of regional executive committee Konstantin Sinevich spoke about a bitter fate which comprehended thousands of Belarusian children, women and men forced to pine in gloomy barracks of concentration camps, to suffer in bondage on forced labor. Many of them did not come back to the native land. Our moral imperative - to remember those who are tortured in fascist torture chambers.

Nowadays 711 veterans of the Great Patriotic War, 227 former prisoners and 182 persons who were violently stolen to Germany live in our area. The operating system of privileges, efforts of local government are directed to that was to these people as it is possible better. Rewarding with their medal "60 years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945 g." is a national recognition of firmness and courage, worthy overcoming of cruel tests.

Participants of a meeting were warmly and warmly congratulated by the chairman of regional council of deputies Mikhail Kovalevich, the former minor prisoner of the concentration camp Ayzenerts the vice-chairman of Mutual Understanding and Reconciliation fund Pyotr Sazonenko. Pyotr Leontyevich at 14-year age was seized by fascists and placed for a barbed wire. Sad memoirs noted bondage time. The debt of the former prisoners, is convinced Pyotr Sazonenko, to inform people, especially to youth, of the truth on drama days of captives of fascism, on greatness of the Victory.
