On June 11, 1944 the scout plane Pe-2P, coming back from a task on aerial photography of enemy military facilities, it was attacked near the village of Katasha by the German fighters BP-109 and after short fight it is brought down. Only many years later it was succeeded to find out names of pilots - Nikolay Postnikov, Nikolay Kuznetsov, Pyotr Pavlov. Only three a name from a long chain of heroes who those severe years did not spare the life, battling for each span of the earth, for each street, for each piece of the sky... Rub a name - forever entered in history of Kobrin district.

From memoirs of the eyewitness Pavel Karpovich Ignatyuk, the inhabitant of Katasha: "The plane lit up and began to fall. One of crew members jumped out with a parachute, the German fighters began to scribble on the pilot. Already dead the pilot fell by the earth between the villages of Katasha and Nesterov of a rod. Locals managed to look at documents of the died pilot it there was the senior lieutenant Postnikov Nikolay Yakovlevich. Soon to the place of falling there arrived Magyar soldiers whose military unit stood in of Petki. They took away documents among which there was an undispatched letter of mother and an individual weapon".

Inhabitants of of Katasha buried the pilot's body in the wood on a rural cemetery. On the same day to the village there came by the car the German officers, forced local men to dig out a grave, made a photo of the dead and left. In the 50th years remains reburied in a mass grave of of Hidra. On a grave put a monument - on a marble slab among other names also his name is cut.

Work on search of the family of the pilot Postnikov who died on June 11, 1944 at of Katasha, pathfinders of Hidrinsky school began still in the early sixties. But searches of the family were conducted not by the name of Postnikov, and Pozdnyakov. Eyewitnesses of death who were asked by school students called a surname Pozdnyakov. Because of this regrettable mistake searches dragged on for many years. After the real name of the pilot was established, Poisk group by means of the class teacher Andrey Kozlovich and the senior pionervozhaty Valentina Liskovich sent inquiry to the Ministry of Defence of the USSR with a request to supply with the information about Nikolay Postnikov. On July 28, 1975 the answer in which it was reported that the senior lieutenant Postnikov N. Ya. came to school., 1919 year of birth, served the pilot observer of the 72nd separate dalnerazvedyvatelny regiment, and on June 11, 1944 did not return from a fighting task - was missing. Here the address of mother of the pilot Postnikov - Anna Nikolaevna was reported.

Children from Poisk group wrote to the address which was reported from the Ministry of Defence, addressed to mother Postnikova the letter, but did not receive any answer. Later one more letter to village council of the village Barrier Skopinsky district of the Ryazan region where mother and sister Postnikova lived was written. Soon the answer came. The secretary of the Zatvorninsky Village Council reported that Postnikova Anna Nikolaevna died long ago, and the daughter living with her changed the residence.

In the letter the address to which Nikolay Yakovlevich's sister - Holodkova Matryona Yakovlevna left was reported. At the end of February, 1977 pathfinders of Hidrinsky SSh received the answer from Holodkova M. Ya., elder sister of Postnikov N. Ya. She thanked for the fact that children found for it that reported about destiny of the brother. Sent to children of the address of two more sisters. Pathfinders wrote to these addresses and soon received answers from Kobylenko Praskoviya Yakovlevna from Vysokovsk and Kozlova Eudoxia Yakovlevna from Aleksin. It was in October, 1980.

From the letter on Praskoviya Yakovlevna Kobylenko (Postnikova's) brother: "Studied well though there were not enough textbooks, often it was necessary to remember what was explained by the teacher at a lesson. Kolya played sports and very much loved skis, well swam. After leaving school, having worked as 2 years, came to MVAU of Melitopol. Having graduated from flight school, it served in Krasnogvardeysk near Leningrad. There it was also found by war. For defense of Leningrad it was handed the nominal weapon and an award of the Red Banner. Nikolay three times was wounded, and after the third wound nearly lost an opportunity to fly..."

And here excerpt from Nikolay Postnikov's letter. "These pigs fascists - are capable of everything: to kill, burn, hang up. It is their main profession. But time will come - we still will pay off. The Soviet people will never forgive to these reptiles all that they did and do in the territory occupied by them".

The second crew member of the plane could catapult too. The wounded, after a landing on a parachute, it was taken prisoner and sent, according to locals, to the German hospital which was in to Kobrina. Nothing is known of future of this pilot. Perhaps, he died of wounds - and his body was buried near hospital. After war this burial was transferred to a mass grave of the square of Puganov on Pervomayskaya St. Only in January, 2011 by means of the search website "Memorial" it was reliable the name of this second pilot of crew of the plane - Kuznetsov Nikolay Trofimovich is established. About the pilot Postnikov is mute mentioned in letters home. In the list of losses of officers of the 72nd prospecting aviaregiment from the 5th till June 26, 1944 their names stand nearby. They did not return from a fighting task in one day - on June 11, 1944.

Thanks to operational work of the specialist of the city hall of Novosibirsk to Volkova Larisa Veniaminovna there was Kuznetsov's nephew - Korovin Victor Mikhaylovich (the son of the sister of Kuznetsov). It became known that it in a family had 4 sisters: Matryona, Polina, Praskoviya, Maria and elder brother Georgi. Georgi passed all war the tankman, survived. After war married the Belarusian girl and till 75 years lived in Baranovichi. Now in his house there lives the daughter Lyudmila.

It is also known that Nikolay Kuznetsov had a wife and the daughter Albina of 1935 of year of birth - at the time of death of the father 8 years were it.

The third crew member, the shooter radio operator, could not catapult. Perhaps, it was wounded or killed. Together with plane it crashed into the earth near the farm of Martysko (Shmata's natural boundary), nowadays the village of Ovada. In the same place on the farm, having collected body fragments, he was also buried by locals. And in March of the 2013th to the Kobrin military registration and enlistment office the letter came from Cheboksary from Victor Karmakov who searched for the uncle, the missing person in June, 1944, Pavlov Pyotr Tarasovich. Victor Egorovich himself began to look for information about is mute on the Internet, contacted the Kobrin military registration and enlistment office. There he received confirmation that in lists of the dead in our area in 1944 such person really is available. It is reburied in Puganov's square. Not so long ago Victor Karmakov with the brother visited Kobrin district and visited the place of death of the plane.

There is a wish to thank heartily all those who took part in this sacred and noble cause, - Victor Karmakov noted. - I am very glad that — let and through long time — we at last learned about destiny of our uncle. It is our memory in which there should be no "white spots".

So, year after year, a fragment behind a fragment this history was written. History only one fight - one of many which became finally pledge of our Great Victory in that terrible war and history of relationship of many generations of descendants. In day on May 9 we will come to monuments to soldiers of the Victory again, we will get a grasp of the names and surnames which are beaten out on cold stone plates. Behind each of these names, as well as behind names of our heroes who died near the small village of Katasha - the destiny, the life, the feat.
