Kobrin district in the years of war

Certainly, all aboriginals know that in our area during the Great Patriotic War eight villages, one of which was not restored, were burned. On places of tragedies in memory of the died fellow countrymen in Kobrin district memorable signs are established. In the majority they are executed at the low art and esthetic level, are insufficiently steady against atmospheric action. About it there was also a speech in the address of the chairman of Kobrin district executive committee Konstantin Vladimirovich Sinevich addressed to the presidentns deputy chief of staff of RB Oleg Vitoldovich Proleskovsky.

In the run-up to the 60 anniversary of a great Victory the head of the district administration proposed to consider the possibility of development of the project of a monument to inhabitants, uniform for all country, of the villages burned by fascists: "In our opinion, the project has to be original, but rather simple, considering a possibility of its installation on places of fascist crimes, in various settlements, including on restored. We find possible also expedient the centralized production of such monuments to carry out at the expense of local sources of financing".

According to an order of the presidentns deputy chief of staff of Republic of Belarus at a meeting of Republican art advisory council on monumental art which took place on December 18, 2003 the address of the chairman Kobrin was considered. Gulyako: "Authors of the Khatyn complex - honored architects of RB Yu.M made a speech at a meeting of council. Gradov and L. M. Levin who suggested to create this monument on the basis of a sign symbol of "Khatyn" - a chimney of the burned-down log hut with a bell.
