We remember the truth war

13 thousand people, from them 70 percent - Jews lived in our city in pre-war time. In the fall of 1941 all Jewish population of Mr. Kobrin was moved in a ghetto "And" and "B". Control in a ghetto was exercised by means of own administrative self-government institutions of "yudenrat" of which the large merchant wholesaler Angelovich was at the head.

In the summer of 1942 there was a destruction of the population of a ghetto of "B" on the Bronny mountain, near. A cap - the Birch. Punishment over a ghetto "And" took place late fall 1942 on the place which today Kobrin's inhabitants call "Death Valley" where 4500 people were shot. In spite of the fact that any help to Jews cruelly was suppressed with fascists, there were citizens who saved the Jewish families from nazis. In our city there live people who helped Jews to avoid horrors of genocide. Among them there is Olga Danilovna Chirun who told us a story of rescue of Raisa Poleva.

... Raisa Polevaya by the beginning of war together with the husband serviceman arrived from Moscow to the Brest fortress. The husband died in the first day of war, and Raisa was taken prisoner where the daughter Nellie gave rise. Having released from captivity, the woman gets to Batchi. There she also lodged in the neighbourhood with Olga Chirun in the house of her aunt. Olga helped with everything to Raisa. All in the district knew that Raisa is the Jew, but nobody gave her. Long time after war Raisa could not go to Moscow, and only in 1948 she returned home. Burdens of war pulled together two young girls, and they became good girlfriends. In spite of the fact that Raisa died in 1988, and her daughter lives in the USA now, the relations of two families are maintained till today.

Of course, case of this girl not only. Hodosevich Tatyana Petrovna told us as her parents and the grandmother during war rescued the Jewish girl Kantorovich Tamara.

... In 1941 to Logoysk the Jewish family came to summer holiday: Kantorovich Hanna (Anna) with the daughter Tamara and the parents. Soon after the beginning of war on Jews persecutions began. And the old hostess at whom Kantorovichi rented apartment expelled them. The family asked for the help Tatyana Petrovna's parents who without hesitation decided to help them. When Jews began to be killed, Tatyana Petrovna's parents hid the Jewish girl Tamara Kantorovich at themselves, and then at the grandmother. On March 13, 1943 shot Tatyana Petrovna's parents and her sister Valentina for communication with guerrillas. And Tamara disappeared at the grandmother up to liberation of Lagoysk.

Despite everything, so many years later the mankind does not forget brave acts of these courageous people. The decision of the Special Commission of Memorial Institute of Accident and Heroism of the European Jewry Yad Vashem to Olga Chirun, Antonina Hodosevich (Tatyana Petrovna's grandmother), Pyotr and Yanina Hodosevich (Tatyana Petrovna's parents) gave an honorary title the Righteous person of People of the world.

In our city two monuments to the peace Jewish inhabitants shot in the years of war are established. One of them is located on turn at Pinsky Bridge where about 2000 people were shot. It is tragicly well-known "Slope". The second monument is in the southern part of the city, in "Death Valley". Looking back in history, we already again come to a conclusion that it is necessary to know and remember the truth war, and it is necessary nobility and remember not to allow repetition of horrors of Accident. Because there is in the world nothing more valuable, than human life.
