About Kobrin

Pionerskaya Street

Pionerskaya Street is called in honor of the All-Union pioneer organization of V. I. Lenin. It is remarkable that the street begins through the road from a gymnasium (the former SSh No. 5) which had a monument to the schoolgirl with the book in a hand and a pioneer tie on a neck.

All-Union pioneer organization of V. I. Lenin

The first pioneer organization since 1926 called the All-Union pioneer organization of V. I. Lenin is created. After October revolution in many cities of the Soviet Union the children's organizations, groups and associations began to arise. The Communist Party charged to Komsomol to create the uniform children's communistic organization. On May 19, 1922 the Second All-Russian conference of Komsomol made the decision on universal creation of pioneer groups. And in October of the same year the 5th All-Russian congress of RKSM decided to unite all pioneer groups organized in the different cities of the USSR in the children's communistic organization "Young Pioneers of Spartak". In 1924 the name of V. I. Lenin was appropriated to it. And after the 7th congress of Komsomol in 1926 on which the resolution on renaming of RKSM into All-Union Leninist Young Communist League was accepted the pioneer organization began to be called "The all-Union pioneer organization of V. I. Lenin".

The first pioneer groups worked at Komsomol cells of plants, factories, establishments, participated in community work days, helped with fight against children's homelessness, with illiteracy elimination. In the early thirties associations of pioneers began to be created at schools. The all-Union pioneer organization was under construction by the so-called school principle: a class – group, school – a pioneer team. In pioneer collectives military and defensive work was developed, circles of young shooters, hospital attendants, operators were created, military sports were held. In days of the Great Patriotic War the grass-roots timurovsky movement was organized. Pioneers helped families of veterans, collected medicinal herbs, scrap metal, funds for tank columns, were on duty in hospitals, worked at harvesting.

In 1991 the pioneer organization, as well as All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, finished the existence. Attempts of its reforming were at first made, but in former scale it was not succeeded to create the children's and junior organization. There was a set of other public organizations – successors pioneer, the children formed with participation and in their interests. The new Union of the pioneer organizations appeared in 1992 as the non-state public organization independent of political parties and movements.
