Panfilovtsev Street is called in honor of valorous soldiers of the 8th Guards shooting division of a name of the Hero of the Soviet Union major general Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov.

Historical battle near Moscow became the most important event of the first year of the Great Patriotic War. Hitlerite command did a special rate on occupation of the capital of our Homeland. The main forces of fascist army were concentrated on approaches to Moscow. However superiority of the opponent both in manpower and in equipment did not break fighting spirit of defenders of the capital.

Moscow turned into indestructible fortress. Having bristled up belts of defensive strengthenings, severe and terrible, Moscow worked, forged a victory, supplied the front with all necessary. Tens of thousands of Muscovites entered a national militia, went to guerrilla groups.

One of lines of defense of the capital passed at railway travel of Dubosekovo. It appeared on the direction of the main blow of Hitlerites. Fascists expected to break through our defense on this site, to escape on Volokolamskoye Highway and to move to Moscow. Here on November 16 the group of fighters of tanks of the 1075th shooting regiment of the 316th shooting division of the general I. V. Panfilov made the immortal feat. 28 heroes assumed blow of 50 enemy tanks.

This day in the morning of a position of Panfilov's men underwent bombing from air. Yet the smoke from ruptures of bombs as on entrenchments of fighters chains of fascist submachine gunners moved did not dissipate. Attack was beaten off by amicable fire. Then the opponent threw into fight of 20 tanks and new group of submachine gunners. The political leader of a company Vasily Klochkov told fighters: "It is not so terrible — less than on the tank on the person". Brave Panfilov's men lined with grenades, bottles with gas mixture and fire from anti-tank guns 14 tanks. The others turned back.

Fighters did not manage to tie up wounds as on entrenchments 30 more enemy tanks moved. The political leader V.G.Klochkov addressed fighters with words which forever became subsequently history: "Russia is big, and there is no place to recede — behind Moscow!". Panfilov's men swore: "To a step backwards!". One by one in cruel fight soldiers beat out out of operation. Hard wounded political leader with a linking of grenades rushed under the enemy tank and blew up it. Four hours this legendary fight lasted. 18 tanks and tens of soldiers were lost here by the enemy, but he did not manage to break through defense.

The immortal feat of 28 heroes Panfilov's men became history of the Great Patriotic War as a remarkable example of heroism, firmness, selfless love of the Soviet people to the Homeland. In days of celebration of the 30 anniversary of a victory at Dubosekovo's travel the majestic memorial complex was open — the people immortalized a feat of 28 heroes Panfilov's men. Over the military field in all growth up in arms there were figures of soldiers cut from a stone. Their faces are turned aside from where an avalanche there were fascist tanks. Behind backs of fighters — Moscow which they kept at the cost of the life. This monument is visible from far away. Its scales just strike. It is so huge that being nearby takes the breath away. The monument is built to heights therefore being at its bottom heart is filled with some inexplicable awe, solemnity, patriotism at last.

At the bottom of Heroes of Panfilov's men not the high granite memorable plate on which the following words are cut is located: "Protecting Moscow in severe November days 1941 at this boundary in cruel fight with fascist aggressors died in the last ditch and won against 28 heroes — Panfilov's men". Those days practically all died, but they stopped the tanks which are inevitably approaching Moscow.
