Memorable places in Kobrin

Historic center: Lenin Square

In the 1950th years in Kobrin the new area appears. In documents it is registered as A. V. Suvorov Square. However, in 1962 it was decided to be renamed into V. I. Lenin Square. It is easy to guess, as the monument to V. I. Lenin had to receive new "address" now. The decision of the Executive Committee of the City Soviet of People's Deputies No. 70 of April 6, 1965 about transfer of a monument of V. I. Lenin from Svoboda Square on V. I. Lenin Square is stored in Kobrin archive.

Lenin Square – a main square of the city of Kobrin, since Soviet period. On the square and near it are: A. V. Suvorov's museum, Palace of culture, bank, hotel, mail, national court, and also office buildings. The area is decorated: a monument in honor of founders of the city of Kobrin and a monument to V. I. Lenin. The main actions, celebrations take place on this square. Traditionally in the center of the area annually establish a fir-tree. A row located a pedestrian street of Suvorov. To Dozhinkam Square strongly changed: instead of old asphalt the tile is laid. The Lenin Square is the downtown today. Exactly from here it is the most convenient to begin virtual travel on all city of Kobrin.

Monument to Lenin there was enough mind not to take down. He harmoniously fits into a general view of the area. Ilyich shows a hand "a right way of the movement". Opposite to a monument on the opposite side there is the former Honour roll.
