International importance:
In the Red List of Belarus it is included for the first time. It is protected in Latvia.

Description:
Perennial grassy plant with a short rhizome. The stalk 20-100 cm high, is trimmed rare soft hairs or sometimes naked. Leaves are elongated and lanceolate, smooth-edged or it is placed crenulate; lower - to the basis narrowed in a scape, top - sedentary, clasping a stalk with the heart-shaped basis. Flower baskets small, are collected in shchitkovidno-panicled inflorescences. A wrapper up to 9 mm long, its external leaflets shorter, lanceolate, trimmed and, besides, seated by ferruterous hairs. A fruit - a semyanka, orange, 3-4 mm long, with a white cop and 20 longitudinal ribs.

Rasprostraniyeniye:
European look widespread in the Atlantic, Central and Eastern Europe, Mediterranean. In Belarus is on northeast border of an area. It is found in the Brest, Drogichinsky, Dyatlovsky, Kamenetsky, Kobrin, Kopylyyosky, Minsk, Oshmyansky, Pruzhansky and Postavsky districts. Earlier it was specified for Bialowieza Forest, Pinsky district, vicinities of Slutsk and Minsk, but in the next years only the location in Bialowieza Forest is confirmed.

Habitats:
Crude sukhodolny, often zakustarenny meadows, usually in valleys of the small rivers, are more rare on mineral islands among low-lying bogs.

Biology:
Blossoms in June - July. Entomofil. Fructifies in July - August. Reproduction is seed. Anemokhor.

Number and tendency of its change:
Grows at absent-mindedly single copies and small groups on the limited square (0,1-1,0 hectares).

Major factors of threat:
Drying melioration (in places of growth and near its localities) with the subsequent economic transformation of lands, a pasture of cattle and excessive recreational loadings (trampling), a burning out of a grass (pala), early mowing.

Protection measures:
"the Lipichansky dense forest" (Dyatlovsky district), "Bugsky" (The Brest district) grows in territories of National park "Bialowieza Forest", wildlife areas of "Zvanets" (Drogichinsky district). Periodic control of a condition of the known populations, the organization of protection of locations of a view with prohibition or restriction of anthropogenous influences is necessary (mowing should be carried out in the second half of summer after a rash of seeds).
