International importance:
It is included in the 2nd edition of the Red List of Belarus (1993). It is protected in Poland.

Description:
Sloyevishche bushy, hanging down, up to 40 cm long, gray-ashy or blue-green, rigid, almost horny, the thick, darkening or black basis having. Branches at the basis rough, arcuately and unevenly curved, almost on all length equally reinforced, only on the ends utonchayushchiyesya, slightly deformed, with short, wide, mostly stupid warts and bark with cross cracks. On quite large warts mealy sorediya which on the main and lateral branches sometimes sprout in additional branches are formed.

Rasprostraniyeniye:
Eurasia, America and Australia. In Belarus meets in Brest (Pruzhansky district), Vitebsk (Lepelsky district) and Grodno (Svislochsky district) areas. Earlier the location was mentioned in Slonimsky district of the Grodno Region.

Habitats:
Grows in places with high humidity of air. In National park "Bialowieza Forest" grows in a prirucheyno-grass chernoolshanik on trunks of an alder black; in the Berezinsky biospheric reserve it is noted on a trunk of an old birch on a quarter glade in a chernoolshanik.

Biology:
In Belarus it is known only in a sterile state (apotetion are not known). Breeds vegetativno.

Number and tendency of its change:
Meets single copies and small groups.

Major factors of threat:
Drying and meliorative works, all views of cabins of the wood, economic transformation of lands.

Protection measures:
Grows in territories of National park "Bialowieza Forest" and the Berezinsky biospheric reserve. The constant control of a condition of the known populations and the organization of purposeful search of new places of growth of a look in similar conditions, preservation of the habitats meeting the requirements of a look are necessary. For this purpose the ban of any silvicultural activity in places of growth and a ban of drying and meliorative actions near its localities is required.
