It is included in the 2nd edition of the Red List of Belarus (1993). It is protected in the territory of Lithuania and Poland.

Description:
Horizontal sloyevishche consists of scales. Scales 2-5 long (10) mm and 0,5-1 mm wide, cherepitchato lean one on another, deeply rassechenny, from above grayish and olive-greenish, from below white, sometimes with not numerous granular sorediya. Podetion often do not develop, low, 0,5-2 (7) mm, whitish or grayish, cylindrical or with weak stsifoobrazny expansion, on the ends with dark or red-brown apotetion.

Rasprostraniyeniye:
Europe (excepting the Arctic), Asia, North America, South Africa. One of the few representatives of a mountain element likhenoflor of Belarus. In Belarus it is found in the Grodno Region (Svislochsky district) in the territory of Bialowieza Forest. Earlier data on finding of a view of territories of the republic are provided without indication of exact location.

Habitats:
Grows on root paws of a fir-tree in the coniferous and broad-leaved woods.

Biology:
Breeds vegetativno (sorediya) and disputes.
