Kobrin knows many heroes. Their names are entered by gold letters in the chronicle of our city. On the eve of the 60 anniversary of the Great Victory this list became fuller. In Day of the state symbols - the coat of arms and a flag - Republic of Belarus official celebration in our city was added by one more ceremony - opening of a memorial board to the fighter pilot of the Great Patriotic War, the captain of the regiment "Normandy-Neman" Ivan Aleksandrovich Zamorin who lived many years in Kobrin.

- This courageous person, the order bearer, made a huge contribution to defeat of fascists, to the Victory of the Soviet people, and our debt to history - to hold in remembrance it for our children that the younger generation was brought up on feats of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and was worthy the history, - the head of the district administration K. V. Sinevich told at opening of a memorial board.

Konstantin Vladimirovich highlighted that the veteran of the Great Patriotic War A. M. Sushchuk who this day was 80 years old became the initiator of perpetuating of memory of the glorified front pilot. The chairman of district executive committee warmly congratulated the hero of the anniversary and handed it a bouquet of roses. Alexey Mikhaylovich shared reminiscence about the hero who was 20 years his neighbor.

Representatives of regional administration and members of the BRSM youth organization laid flowers at a memorial board.

After solemn meeting in the square of A. I. Morozov the column of veterans, representatives of the regional power and the public passed to Liberty Square to garment factory where opening of a memorial board in memory of the victims of fascism tortured in days of the Great Patriotic War took place.

- Memory brought us in day of a light holiday on this place, one of the most mournful places in our city, - on Liberty Square. Here blood was shed and incredible tortures were accepted by our fellow countrymen in the years of war, and our debt to history to designate this place that memory of the victims and heroes of that terrible war and national fight remained for ages, - the chairman of regional council of deputies M. M. Kovalevich said in the speech.

The list of the victims of the terror which is carried out in the territory of Kobrin district the book "contains Memory. Kobrin district". Here names of underground workers who struggled with the enemy and were hung up by 31.12. 1943 on the square: Beletsky Alexey Danilovich, Veremchuk Afanasy, Gorbatovsky Tadeush Boleslavovich, Mountain Alexander Antonovich, Savosyuk Andrey, Somalyuk Pavel, Stalin Anton. Bikhert Lyudmila Vladimirovna, Danilevskaya Alice Fiodorovna, Ignatyuk Lyudmila Pavlovna, Klimuk Stepan Andreevich, Mountain Pavel were executed on May 4, 1944, without having lived only several weeks up to release of the hometown.

60 years passed since our people live under the peace sky. But we build new monuments year after year, we open new obelisks and memorial boards that those who go after heroes of the Great Patriotic War, remembered their feat and knew what price paid their happy and free life.
