We waited and brought closer the Victory

Every year more and more the Great Patriotic War moves away from us in time and remains living participants of military hard times less. For this reason the increasing value is got by their memoirs - live certificates of a feat and heroism. Kobrinchanin Nikolay Grinevich happened to enter war at its final stage - when the victory was already close.

- In July, 1944 Kobrin was exempted from fascist aggressors. I was then 17 years old, - the participant of the Great Patriotic War Nikolay Grinevich remembers. - In 5 days I was called by the Antopolsky military registration and enlistment office on service. An echelon sent to Vologda. In 20 kilometers from the city placed in camp, trained in military science. 3 weeks of training later as a part of 2 thousand people went to the front.

And Lviv, Brest, Poland were farther... Exactly there the 413th division of the 2nd Belarusian front - and a company of submachine gunners in which Nikolay Grinevich served settled down.

- I remember, on February 18 we came in the city of Gdansk, - Nikolay Kirillovich tells. - The commander reported about the forthcoming approach to us at dinner. During bombing my companion died, and I was wounded. The benefit at itself there was a dressing package, the commander helped to cope with a wound - but pain was intolerable. I was picked up by hospital attendants, transferred to mobile hospital. Then it was transferred to the Mogilev hospital where spent 4 months.

Nikolay Grinevich and one more case cannot forget - when it also was on a hair from death. That time the shell which fell in 10 meters from it did not come into action - did not blow up. That unexploded shell is always on his mind also today...

It was remembered to the veteran and the end of war - who, by the way, found it in the thick of military operations.

- We suddenly got to an environment, - Nikolay Grinevich tells. - The two-storeyed house stood nearby, in the cellar was mute, all jerked there to take cover. And was at everyone cartridges practically nothing yes on the grenade. And further somehow everything is transient happened - explosion thundered, we got out of the cellar - silence... Then we hear - ours shout: "Hurrah! Victory!"

After war Nikolay Kirillovich graduated from the agricultural institute and the Higher party school, "Friendship" was the director of a stock-farm. In 1988 it was elected the chairman of the regional organization of disabled pensioners, on this post worked about 20 years. Now on deserved rest. But war does not leave memory - as not healing wound, as eternal experience of what was and that never has to repeat.
