In a fiery scorching heat of the first days of the 41st …

Today we speak about the Great Patriotic War strictly and unvarnished. The severe truth of those days is recorded in historical documents, in memoirs of eyewitnesses, in materials of war reporters.

One of the first assumed massive attacks of the German troops at the very beginning of war flight formations of Red Army. The figure is widely known: only in one day - on June 22, 1941 - the Air Force of the Western special military district lost 738 planes. Historians of Soviet period spoke about this fact briefly - accident. And it is possible to understand them: to terribly comment on such defeat. But there was also another - 1896 fighting departures, 143 brought-down German planes...

The 10th mixed aviadivision

The first blow took unawares only the 74th assault regiment of the colonel Vasilyev brought in July to airfield Small Platoons in summer camp (12 km from border!) from It is bought. The regiment underwent massive bombing and a shelling. Only in all the district eight "Il-2" did not fly up. Soon on airfield the German tanks rushed.

The 33rd destructive regiment of the major Nikolay Akulina which was based in Pruzhanakh in the first fight lost only one pilot - the deputy commander of a squadron lieutenant Stepan Gudimov. At 5 hours 20 minutes around airfield the link of "I-16" intercepted 18 He-111 bombers. Gudimov of one brought down, and rubanut another the plane screw on a tail. Both planes plummeted to earth. The regiment suffered the main losses in the 4th raid - Germans burned 20 planes on the earth. By the end of day the regiment lost 34 planes...

The 39th bombing regiment of the major Zakharychev underwent four attacks, on the earth 25 SB planes and 5 "Pe-2" burned down. 18 "SB" managed to strike successful blow around a crossing through the river Bug, near Melnik. But at return home they all were hit... The regiment was based in Pinsk.

The order from a staff of the Air Force from Minsk came to 12 o'clock in the afternoon in a division: "I approve a transfer to Pinsk. It is more than initiative, maneuver airfields. Tayursky".

There was nothing to maneuver... For June 22 the 10th mixed aviadivision lost 180 planes. The hardened battles were conducted by pilots-Red Army men and near Kobrin - these military events also found numerous reflection in our newspaper.

Yes, our pilots burned on planes, broke, falling brought down to the ground. But they made the feat, with firmness and courageously battling against the enemy, on a limit of human forces and opportunities. By miracle survivors in a scorching heat on June 22, they buried near the blazing planes of the companions and through forest thickets and bogs broke on the East - to the.

Pilots of bitter June of the forty first... You made feats, low bow to you and imperishable memory...

Way to freedom

In editorial archive "Kobrynskaga Vesn_ka" filing of military issues of the newspaper remained. Then it was called "Work" and understandably during fascist occupation did not leave. Continuous editorial work was resumed only since August, 1944. Thumbing through these turned yellow pages, breath of military events, intense work of our fellow countrymen for the Victory benefit in the freed territory, a uniform rush of all Soviet people in fight against Hitlerite aggressors is hotter than often absolutely small A4 format as if personally you feel.

The materials published in those numbers of "Work" are read with keen, genuine interest. As, for example, material signed by the former commander of guerrilla group F. I. Moskalenko the "Way to freedom" placed in No. 8 for November 7, 1944.

"Following companion Stalin's appeal of July 3, 1941, I, having come to be in the territory which is temporarily occupied by the enemy, swore that I will cruelly revenge fascists for the scolded Homeland, for innocently shed blood of the Soviet people. I began the fighting guerrilla activity in September, 1941 in the Brest region. Having brought together around itself group of guerrillas in number of 18 people, began to conduct work in the back of the enemy. In ambushes on the German cyclists, motorcyclists, attacking separate cars, we exterminated not one ten hated friyets.

In April, 1944 I with the group which grew to 26 people passed into the Bialowieza Forest woods. Here we met the commander of other guerrilla group Shubitidze Ivan Georgiyevich and in common began to continue persistent fight against the enemy.

But the enemy then was strong. On fight against the young guerrilla movement he threw tens of esesovsky divisions and surrounded the region of Bialowieza Forest with a blockade ring. From the remains of cartridges we broke through through this ring and in the fall of 1942 arrived to Kobrin district where joined the guerrilla group of Chapayev operating here.

In 1942-1943 under the leadership of heroically died I. I. Orlov our group was the embodiment of fear and horror for invaders of Kobrin district. German-police garrisons in Zhukhovtsakh, Eryomichakh, Shlyakhte, Dams, Oranchitsakh were crushed. Blows of chapayevets were strong felt by Germans in fights in Plyanta, Ploshchinakh, Gorizdrichakh, Striyakh and Podolesye.

Germans did not know rest neither in the afternoon, nor at night. Their delivery roads were covered with fragments of tens and hundreds of engines, cars, cars. Having earthed as rats, they tremblingly expected inevitable death. And when under crushing blows of Red Army Germans were forced to leave the pillboxes and earth-and-timber emplacements, ways of their flight were barred by powerful fighting units — groups of guerrilla crew of V. I. Chapayev.

By this time I was already a commander of one of groups. At first as the commander of a platoon, then the commander of a company and, at last, the commander of group, I together with the fighting unit entrusted to me became tempered in fights, seized guerrilla tactics.

And now, when Germans are expelled from our sacred earth, I had an opportunity to work by the pre-war profession".
