I had to order happiness the 669th shooting regiment of the 212th Krichevsky shooting division and to free the city of Kobrin. As now I remember, in the evening on July 19 the advanced parts of a regiment approached from the city of Drogichin Kobrin. It was not succeeded to take the city to a descent. The water barrier and the strong gun-fire opened by fascists at the coming divisions stopped advance of our troops. It was necessary to prepare perepravochny means, to conduct careful investigation of defense of the opponent that in a decisive battle to overcome the enemy.

Together with ours 212-y a shooting division from the right flank there came the 415th shooting division of the colonel P. I. Moshchankov which bypassed the city from North side. Being afraid of an environment, fascists began to prepare for retreat in the direction of Brest, but did not hurry to leave the city, showed persistent resistance.

But could change nothing any more. The offensive rush of the Soviet soldiers was above any praises. By the morning on July 20 Kobrin celebrated release from Hitlerites.

For successful military operations the 212th shooting division was awarded the order the Red Banner, and the honourable name of "Kobrin" was appropriated to 12 parts of the First Belarusian front which especially caused a stir in fights for the city.

For performance of fighting tasks of release of the city of Brest the division is awarded by the Order of Kutuzov, and regiments are awarded awards of the Red Banner. So on July 28, 1944 the last end was put to the operation "Bagration" to the Bug River.
