Sacred Trinity Church of the village of Kozishche that in Kobrin district

That temple which decorates the village of Kozishche today is the third temple of this settlement. The first stone to its base was put in 1925. However, about everything one after another. The first Christian temple in the village of Kozishche was under construction in 1805 when in the forest settlement there were all "2 economy and 12 inhabitants". The church was built by the local landowner Bruno Puslovsky. The description of the temple remained: "… the simple and poor building on the open place, among loose sandy hills, with only one Cross, small on top".

By the way – Puslovskiye, are those who will construct Kosowski the lock later. They in 1825 constructed uniatsky church in Gorodechno and about 60 more cult constructions. The temple in the village of Kozishche was an altar on the West, i.e. was uniatsky. I do not find an explanation why 10 years of finding of our lands later as a part of the Russian Empire construction of the uniatsky temple was allowed? But it is already other history.

So, the small uniatsky church prayed with the parishioners till 1839 when the building was "transferred" to Orthodoxy. Parishioners built the new temple by 1879. In the same place. Here its name – Sacred and Troitsk is distinctly checked. Here the text from "The Lithuanian diocesan sheets" for 1879.

The new temple "is decorated with two magnificent domes, with the crosses shining on them and rising to the sky … It is decently fenced and surrounded with everything as really it befits the God's shrine". Lecture, after a rank of consecration of a throne of church, the prior the next Beryozovskaya Kresto-Vozdvizhenska read churches the priest Pavel Mikhaylovsky (whom it was mentioned when writing stories of Kobrin temples more than once). Interesting data from diocesan sheets: "on church service pupils of Kozishchensky national school under the leadership of the teacher M. Martynov sang". I think, the father of the first director of the Kobrin museum – Alexey Mikhaylovich.

It is known that Lev Kretovich, the native of the Minsk province was a prior of the kozishchensky temple at that time. By the way, this father undertook also cultural updating of the village of Kozishche in which for that time there were about 50 yards and 500 inhabitants. Orthodox parish totaled 1826 believers. In national school at different times there were about 100 pupils. In three windmills local peasants ground grain.

Also today in Kozishchakh the oak avenue from church before turn and lime – from cemeteries is looked through. The park by tradition landed newly married not one decade is still beautiful. (Impressions of 7.08.2014 of visit of the temple together with pilgrims from Arkhangelsk).

According to documents, in 1888 Anthony Ussakovsky, the native of Vitebshchina becomes the prior of the kozishchensky temple. History of life of this father is very interesting. He was married to the Greek woman. She was a sister of the chief of the local railroad. Where they were reduced by destiny – it is unknown. But it is for certain known that the island Anthony in Vilno studied and served in kozishchensky church till 1902. And still it is known that the house of the priest was from seven rooms.

By the way, absolutely unexpected and interesting story. O. Anthony Ussakovsky is a great-grandfather of the famous rock musician Andrey Makarevich. And that Greek woman, by the name of Anfila Kiriakidi – his great-grandmother. The grandmother of Andrey Makarevich – Lydia with which he (Andrey) lived in Moscow was born in Kozishchakh. From Beryozovsky district his grandfather – Grigory Makarevich. As the world is close! We go further.

Events of World War I did not pass kozishchensky church. With feeling of the fulfilled duty Cossacks of the Russian imperial army made a terrible sin: publicly set fire to the temple. There was it in August, 1915. And since September, 1915 in Kozishchakh kayzerovets managed. Since 1921 the village of Kozishche as a part of the II Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Small retreat.

In. A name-day that near Kobrin where today the recreation camp "Pearl" belonging to the Union of Baptists, once structures belonged to the landowner's family Severina Novomeyskogo. And so, orthodox peasants of the village of Kozishche appealed to this landowner of free allocation of the wood on construction of an Orthodox church. The wood was allocated. Said that the wife of sir Severin was very wise woman. Loved God. And it at Orthodox Christians and Catholics one.

The temple was built by two years. On the place burned down in 1915. The standard project was taken as a basis. Sacred Trinity Church of the village of Kozishche represents a rectangle, with a five-wall obsidy and tent belltower. The temple in 1927 is consecrated. For today the name of the prior of the temple since 1931 is known. It is the lake Nikolay Kreydich. In arrival then there were 8 villages. Parishioners: 1101 women and 1317 men. In church library there were 80 books. In 1936 (from documents) in church there were 16 weddings, 33 burial services and 66 baptisms. 1939 did not mention an orthodox shrine. But in 1940 the priest of the lake Nikolay the new power condemned for 25 years of camps.

The service since 1940 was taken up by the young priest Georgy Dombitsky. But local guerrillas for something killed him in 1942. Also burned its housing though there lived his family and temporarily unfortunate fellows villager. Risking life, secretly there came to service the priest from the next Birch. By the way, it he read the burial service in the temple of the murdered lake of Georgy for what he in a consequence paid with life.

The temple was closed in 1962 and made of it a warehouse for grain storage. And only in 27 years the temple was returned to believers. It happened on July 29, 1989. And by new 1990 the temple was consecrated anew.
