To the 90 anniversary of the Slutsk revolt

About the Slutsk armed revolt of 1920 long, and it is several generations of Belarusians, coward held back. My generation of the 60th knew only about the Slutsk belts sung by Maxim Bogdanovich. About revolt was not in one Soviet encyclopedia, and in the Belarusian historical encyclopedia it is in a few words told about "somebody local counterrevolutionary and nationalist mutiny".

An, no! Not so it was. 90 years ago our great-grandfathers took up arms. However about everything one after another!

The power on Sluchchin in 1918-20 changed as "a glove of the great lady". As a result under the contract on a truce the Western part of Belarus departed to Poland, East – to the Soviet Russia. So Slutsk appeared on repartition border.
On November 14, 1920 in the city of Slutsk there takes place the First Belarusian congress of Sluchchina. 117 people gathered. They recognize as the highest power in Belarus – Rada of BNR created in 1918. Also go under slogans: "For Councils without the Moscow communists", "Neither the Polish sirs, nor the Moscow Bolsheviks"...

Within three days under this slogan there are about 10 thousand volunteers, in most of peasants and officers of a local origin. The 1st Slutsk crew was so created. Here pertinently to add that our ancestors in reality consciously opposed the opponent surpassing in force. But the opponent was an invader, both Russian, and Polish.

The surplus-appropriation system and policy of military communism became an occasion to take up arms. The armed performance began on November 27, 1920. Ten thousand volunteers were armed: 10 machine guns and 2 thousand rifles. The only thing that was in prosperity - it is provisions which the local population (but also provisions gave then stopped since punitive actions of Red Army began). Insurgents conducted battles with regular parts of Red Army. And it is successful.

Then Moscow sends the elite Omsk division completed half with the Chinese volunteers on revolt suppression. The hope for the birth of the state sank in blood. In January, 1921 the weakened groups of risen gathered in the village of Zaostrovechye near the river the Fallow deer. Rada solved: further resistance is useless. Disarmament was carried out by Poles, having secretly agreed to the Soviet Russia. Also neither Poland, nor Russia forgave to rebels.

Poles sent given in camp of Bialystok and Trickled pastries. Then they were let out. And who believed amnesty of the Soviet government (and Slutsk was under the power of councils of Russia) and came back home on Sluchchina – banished to the Solovki and Belomorkanal. From there nobody returned! Thought what will be forgotten behind prescription?!

Memory neither repressions, nor death silence of the authorities did not etch. Descendants of rebels handed down revolt history. Our great-grandfathers went to die what there would live the Fatherland.
