Articles about Kobrin: Tragedy of the villages of Kobrin district

To sad dates coming back …

There are subjects which relevance and the importance are reduced by neither time, nor frequency of mentions. One of them - mass destruction by invaders of civilians of Belarus in days of the Great Patriotic War. Because as the marshal Konstantin Rokosovsky told: "That will never learn to love live who is not able to revere memory fallen"...

In the fall of 1942 in Kobrin, Maloritsky and Brest districts invaders performed the operation "Triangle". The action was executed by chasteners of the 3rd battalion of the 15th German police regiment which commander was a major Golling, division of the 10th and 16th regiments, a special company "Nuremberg". The village of Borisovka was surrounded from the North and the South with two platoons of chasteners. From the dawn the population was driven in a shed. Then groups on 6-7 people of people removed to edge of in advance dug out hole and shot. Bodies of the dead dumped in a hole and covered with earth. In total 169 people were killed. By miracle Elena Kulikovich who hid in a shed in straw, Ippolit Pashkovich survived - that terrible day went to the village of Divin. Mikhail Pavlyuchik, being on the edge of a hole, took to the heels. Shots were following distributed. Having stumbled, it fell. Germans counted him as the killed. After a while it could crawl to the wood and hide.

About the events, subsequent to executions, it is possible to learn from the report of the commander of the 9th company captain Casper: "After the population was eliminated, combed all district. The cattle, the food and agricultural stock were collected to one place, and it was more hard work, and on carts are sent to Divin...".

Not less cruelly invaders dealt shortly with residents of the village of Kamenka. On the eve of war in the village there were 73 yards and 357 people lived. In September, 1942 fascist aggressors shot 152 civilians and burned 48 yards.

Continuing the bloody way, in September, 1942 chasteners surrounded the village of Recyca. Old men, women and children - only 64 persons - drove into a shed and burned. Also the village (45 yards) was burned. In November, 1942 the tragic destiny comprehended the village of Cherevachitsa. Here in one day 56 people died. Only those whose houses did not manage to set fire who managed to escape, or those who could jump out of the blazing buildings survived. So the small village to 18 yards, on the right coast of Mukhavts, became one more fiery village of Belarus.

The bitter destiny comprehended also. Eagle. Many centuries were staid by this small village in the depth of the woods. After in 1939-1940 there took place reconstruction of the Dnepro-Bugsky channel, it appeared on the coast of this water route. Probably, it is it and ruined. Invaders, being afraid of diversions on communications, decided to wipe out the small village consisting of 12 yards which inhabitants, according to Germans, could give help to guerrillas. Chasteners came there on December 22, 1942. They shot 18 people, and burned the village.

Mass executions continued also in 1943. Their strengthening was caused by defeats of fascists on fronts and actions of guerrillas. In October, 1943 fascists rushed into of Novosyolki. Chasteners shot 67 inhabitants and burned houses. In the fall of the same year two more villages suffered from fascist invaders: Borki and Luka Ostromichskogo of the Village Council. In these villages chasteners destroyed 48 inhabitants.

Remind of those terrible days the monuments and obelisks established on places of death of people, on mass graves. Does not grow and should not grow a national track to them.
